Rowling says fan's book could endanger other authors











Fresh York (Reuters) - Author J.K. Rowling said on Wed publication of an unofficial encyclopedic companion to her Ravage Putter books would "open up the floodgates" and jeopardise other authors.


The British people author and Warner Bros., a subsidiary of Time Warner INC., ar suing mugwump U.S. publisher RDR Books, which plans to publish "The Harry Putter Dictionary," a 400-page reference book book written by Steve Vander Ark based on his fan Web website (world Wide Web.hp-lexicon.org).


"This case is almost an author's mightily to protect their creation," Rowling, 42, told a Freshly House of York court. "If this book is allowed to be published the floodgates will open."
